This move builds upon Brazil’s globally recognized digital governance framework. According to the World Bank, Brazil ranks second in the world for digital government maturity.

Meanwhile, SERPRO, the world’s largest state-owned IT company, plays a crucial role in this achievement. Its technology infrastructure supports 90% of Brazil’s federal government systems

The company manages over 750 digital solutions, processing 33 billion transactions annually. It also oversees more than 30.4 petabytes of data across various cloud platforms.

This collaboration aims to leverage SERPRO’s extensive expertise in public management alongside Cardano’s blockchain technology. Frederik Gregaard, CEO of the Cardano Foundation, emphasized the nature of this partnership.

“Our collaboration with SERPRO represents a transformative step in modernizing Brazil’s public sector infrastructure through education and blockchain technology,” Gregaard stated.

This initiative aims to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in government operations and benefit millions of Brazilian citizens.

Beyond blockchain integration, education remains a key focus of this alliance. The Cardano Academy aims to provide SERPRO employees with in-depth blockchain training.

The program will include masterclasses, technical workshops, and certification courses, helping to strengthen participants’ understanding of blockchain technology.

“By combining SERPRO’s extensive expertise in the public sector with Cardano’s blockchain infrastructure, we are positioning Brazil at the forefront of digital government transformation,” said SERPRO President Alexandre Gonçalves de Amorim.

Notably, this is the first time SERPRO has partnered with an international organization for educational initiatives. However, the Cardano Foundation previously partnered with Brazil’s energy company in December 2023.

Meanwhile, as the foundation continues to expand its global presence, Cardano’s native token, ADA, has also gained attention with recent developments in the US. The token has seen a significant surge after being named as one of the altcoins in President Trump’s crypto reserve.

However, these gains were short-lived. Following President Trump’s executive order on strategic Bitcoin reserves, Bitcoin (BTC) and other altcoins experienced a sharp decline. At the time of writing, ADA is trading at $0.87, reflecting a 7.52% decrease in the past day.
